Birch was founded with a focus on providing laboratories with high-quality, high-purity solvents at competitive prices, supported by reliable sourcing and responsive customer service. Prior to focusing on Birch, Adam spent nearly a decade with Azer Scientific.

Matthias Szczepanek
Matthias leads accounting, finance, and enterprise systems at Birch Biotech. He began his career at PwC in Tax and then Accounting Advisory before joining Azer Scientific in 2019 where he served as Chief Financial Officer. He is a CPA and alumnus of West Chester University.

Reza Ardekani
Reza began his career with a bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Cytotechnology from Thomas Jefferson University, a scientific foundation that launched him into many years of experience across the life sciences industry. Along the way, he led national business development strategies, developed intellectual property, managed multi-channel commercial teams, and oversaw operations and distribution. That breadth of experience ultimately led him to found Azer Scientific. The company was later sold and became Biolyst Scientific, where Reza continues to serve on the board of directors.

Christopher Tavarez
Chris began his career at Azer Scientific, where he gained hands-on experience across nearly every corner of the business. Starting in customer service, he went on to serve as a sales and marketing associate, then shipping coordinator, and ultimately logistics manager, building a deep understanding of how each department works together to keep a company running smoothly. Chris brought that well-rounded expertise to Birch, where he plays an integral role in the company’s day-to-day operations. As the person behind the scenes, he makes sure everything runs efficiently.
